A distraught Brit family have been sent a horrific video of their missing cat’s partially-decapitated body. The sickening film and pictures were messaged to Caroline Prater by a teenage neighbour, after the area around their home in Bristol, was flooded with missing posters for her cat Morris. The Prater family had been searching for their beloved ginger cat for more than a week when they received the shocking video. They have asked police to look into the video with the theory that their cat has been tortured and killed by yobs as some kind of initiative rite to join a local gang. Mystery surrounds what happened to Morris, but Mrs Prater and the rest of her family are now coming to terms with the certainty Morris is dead, and that he met a grisly end. The family live in a cul-de-sac just off Parkwall Road in Cadbury Heath, along with three cats, including Morris, aged 11. They first realised something was wrong last weekend. “Last Friday night he didn’t come home, and he wasn’t on the doorstep on Saturday morning, like he normally would be if he stayed out all night,” said Caroline. “When it came to Sunday and he still was nowhere to be seen, we got worried and that’s when we started the missing appeal,” she added. The family printed out posters, put them up all over the area, and posted on social media to search for Morris, and Caroline said she was inundated with people suggesting sightings or sending her pictures of cats from far and wide. There was no sign of Morris anywhere, until she received a message on Friday from a teenage girl who lived nearby, saying she had seen and grabbed a video and pictures of a cat that appeared to be Morris. “She asked me if I wanted to see it, even though it was gruesome, and I said yes of course I did because I needed to know what had happened to Morris,” said Caroline. “The video was absolutely horrible. The camera scans up and down Morris’s body showing injuries and then his head is almost completely off, it’s been cut off just so it’s attached by a thread - it’s disgusting,” she added. She identified the area where the video appears to have been filmed as a footpath at the end of her own cul-de-sac and immediately went out to look. Shockingly, Caroline said she found tufts of Morris’s fur lying around at the spot, but there was no sign of her beloved cat’s body. She was also told the video itself had been filmed last Sunday – two days after he went missing. Now the family, who have contacted the police, are demanding answers from their community. The video, which is too disturbing for Daily Star Online to publish, shows the body of Morris lying on the path near his home. His tail is cut off, and his head is almost completely severed from his body, and he’s suffered other injuries too. The family said they want to warn everyone in Bristol to keep a close eye on their cats, if this is a threat to other pets. “It’s horrendous, absolutely horrendous. I’m angry that people would do this.
