The main platform has finally hit the final size and it has been quite a journey. The beams, bracing, decking and all the bolts are in. The next steps are to trim the decking boards and start putting on the hand rails for safety.

This is the first of many episodes on our first treehouse construction attempt. In our minds the final product will be a small 2-story treehouse with a deck surrounding the first floor and a smaller deck extending from the second floor as well. The first floor of the building will be 20-30 feet off the ground, about 20 feet at the uphill side and 30+ feet on the downhill side.
